This week we are experiencing Celebration Sunday in our Sunday worship. Celebration Sunday is when we forgo our normal service and enjoy a wonderful buffet of food and just get to know each other.
Charles Fillmore, our Unity co-founder has said that “the true Christ church is not a religious denomination. It is an aggregation of spiritual ideas in individual consciousness.” This occurs as people build relationships in the Spirit of Truth. Getting to form the bonds of love and unity as they grow as a community is the outcome that comes from that commitment to building those communication links.
It is our hearts that make the connections that bring about our spiritual community or church. When we open our hearts in conversation with no other agenda than getting to know our fellow human beings, we are opening a new understanding and experience of the community we call church. We are divinity talking to divinity. Let’s focus on the best in each of us and create the community of love that we seek. And enjoy a wonderful get together, the communion of our fellowship and a delicious banquet prepared with loving hands by Chef Kathleen.
