This week we have a guest speaker, Tom Messinger, our board vice president and a longtime member of our spiritual community. Tommy has shared “The Keys to the Kingdom” prosperity workshop with us on several occasions and will share his thoughts on prosperity and our divine right to prosper and thrive.
A few ideas from Unity Principles:
Prosperity is a state of mind as much as it is a state of life. Charles Fillmore, Unity’s co-founder, taught that true prosperity is about aligning our thoughts, faith, and actions with divine principles, opening the doors to abundance in all forms. As he wrote in Prosperity, “We make the world we live in and shape our own environment.” Through conscious thinking, we shape the flow of prosperity in our lives.
A core teaching from Charles Fillmore is that abundance originates within. When Jesus said, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33), he pointed us toward inner focus. By nurturing thoughts of gratitude, generosity, and trust, we become receptive to God’s infinite supply.
Unity principles emphasize the power of affirmation and visualization. When we hold visions of prosperity and claim it with confidence, we bring divine abundance into reality. Speaking words of affirmation such as, “I am a channel of divine abundance,” can shift us from a mindset of lack to one of faith.
Fillmore also stressed that generosity is a divine law of prosperity. As we give freely—of our time, resources, and love—we activate the law of circulation, knowing that our giving returns multiplied. This reflects Jesus’ wisdom: “Give, and it shall be given unto you” (Luke 6:38).
Let us embody prosperity by focusing on our divine connection, affirming abundance, and giving with open hearts. Visit with us to experience these important teachings from the heart of Tommy Messenger.

Rev. Robert
