Time is My Friend

We have a wonderful guest speaker this Sunday. Dee Andrews is a longtime Unity student who achieved the rating of Licensed Unity Teacher and along with her husband, served as co-minister of their own church. Dee has been a member of Unity Pflugerville for awhile and is now stepping forward to share her heart and knowledge with us. Dee shares her Sunday topic with us in this article.  Rev. Robert

Time is my Friend
Have you ever heard the words, “Do you have time to…?”  Uh oh, somebody needs our Time.  You don’t know how much Time they want, or why?  Or what for?  Yes, our answer is usually couched in IF I am going to spend some, or Any of My Time, then I have to weigh it carefully.

But wait!  Time:  does it even belong to me?  Or them?  How do I even have it?    Where does Time even come from?

Let’s bring God into this.  Is it possibly one of many gifts from our very loving and generous Father?  If so, what is the price for it, and is there a catch or a requirement with it?  In Psalms 90:12, we are told that we should number our days (count our Time) that we may grow hearts of wisdom.  Hearts that dwell in the Truth and Wisdom of the Spirit Within are “numbering our days” in a way that transcends the historical methods of recording events of Time.

Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, wrote, “Time has no power over one who dwells in the mind of God.  Nothing will change us as rapidly as the denial of Past and Future.  Do not dwell in the Past or on the predictions of the Future. Because: God is Eternal and is everywhere present at all Times, there is only the Present."  So, affirm with me, TIME IS MY FRIEND.

If Time is my friend, we have a new perspective.  The Bible has many stories that say, “It came to pass.”  Some things are important milestones in Life that deserve a memory, and a lesson gained from the time involved.  Let those be the steps on the road that lead us to the Present, wherein God Is.

I hope you will grant us a small portion of your Time Sunday when we explore this more in depth.

Blessings, Dee Andrews
