Walking on Water: Embracing Faith, and Unity as we move into the future.

This week, we reflect on the inspiring story of Peter walking on water, found in Matthew 14:28-31. A powerful reminder of what happens when we place our trust in the Christ that we are. When Peter stepped out of the boat to walk on water at the invitation of Jesus, he demonstrated immense faith. However, as doubt crept in and fear set in, he began to sink. This narrative challenges us to examine our own moments of uncertainty and to recognize how easily doubt can overcome our spirit.

In our daily lives, we often encounter turbulent waters—moments of difficulty and uncertainty that test our resolve. Yet, just as Peter experienced both triumph and trial, we too can learn from his experience. Our unity as a congregation plays a crucial role in supporting one another during these times. When one member of our church feels overwhelmed by doubt or fear, our collective strength and compassion can help lift them back into the light of faith.

Unity, both in our community and our beliefs, is essential. It reminds us that we are not alone in our struggles. Just as the disciples rallied together in the boat, we can create a safe space for sharing our challenges and our victories. By leaning on one another and keeping our eyes fixed on the Christ Within, we reinforce our trust in God's plan and guidance for our spiritual community.

The Bible teaches us that faith is not the absence of fear, but the courage to overcome it. When Peter began to sink, it wasn’t a failure of faith but a reminder of the human tendency to be swayed by the storm. Let us use his experience as a lesson: when doubts arise, we must redirect our focus to the Christ within which calls us to step out in faith despite our fears.

This Sunday, March 2, 2025, Madelyn and I are retiring to Glendale AZ and it will be our last Sunday with you as our Pflugerville Spiritual Family. You will always be in our hearts and memories. We appreciate the potluck lunch you are setting up after service to say goodbye and know that like Peter, you will be able to walk on the waters of life to bring blessings, love and miracles to an ever expanding center of influence. You are miracle workers that are here to bless the world.

Let’s commit ourselves to fostering a culture of trust, understanding, love, and unity. Energetically together, we can navigate life’s storms, supporting each other with prayer, compassion, and the unwavering hope, trust, and faith in our understanding. We know that we are on our path to becoming the true expression of the divinity that we are.

Blessings, We love you
