We Are Co-Creators with God

The third Unity principle that "We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind" invites us into a very personal understanding of our spiritual power and responsibility. This idea is deeply rooted in biblical teachings and supported by metaphysical perspectives and encourages us to consciously shape our lives through attention to our inner world of thoughts, words, feelings and actions.

The Bible presents numerous passages that support this truth of our co-creatorship with God. In Genesis 1:27, it is written, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God." Being created in God's image implies that we inherit divine qualities, including the ability to create.

Proverbs 23:7 states, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." This Bible passage explains the power of our thoughts in shaping our reality. It suggests that our inner beliefs and attitudes manifest in our external circumstances. Jesus also emphasized the significance of faith and belief in shaping our reality. In Mark 11:24, He said, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Here, Jesus highlights the importance of holding positive, faith-filled thoughts to bring forth desired outcomes.

Metaphysical teachings delve deeper into the mechanics of how our thoughts influence our reality. Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore described thoughts as "mind energy" that shapes our experiences. He taught that our thoughts and feelings are like seeds planted in the soil of our subconscious mind, eventually manifesting as our life experiences.

The Law of Attraction aligns with this principle. It suggests that like attracts like—positive thoughts attract positive experiences, while negative thoughts attract negative outcomes. By consciously focusing on uplifting, constructive thoughts, we align ourselves with the divine creative power within us and create only the good that we are here to manifest for ourselves and others.

Embracing our role as co-creators requires awareness and intention in our thinking patterns. We are here to create an understanding and belief that we are really the children of the Primal Source of all things, here in a physical form to do our part in bringing peace and prosperity to our world.

Practical steps to integrate this principle into our daily lives include prayer, meditation, gratitude, and self-reflection on our individual application of Love as taught by our master teacher, Jesus. (we are here to love all that is)

Understanding that we are co-creators with God empowers us to take an active role in shaping our lives. By aligning our thoughts with divine principles, we tap into the creative power within us and manifest a reality that reflects our highest potential. As we hold positive, faith-filled thoughts in mind, we participate and take responsibility in the unfolding of God's divine plan for our lives, bringing forth blessings of joy, abundance, health and well-being.
