On Monday, October 31 we celebrate Halloween which was originally celebrated by the Celtic traditions as “All Hallows Eve” and was a time to remember the dead and honor their memories. It was to be a time of remembrance and mourning and then release of these memories.
We can use these stories and memories to release the past in our own lives. We can decide to let go and let God clean up the upsets, traumas, failures, deaths and mistakes that we carry with us as a daily burden of grief, sorrow, guilt, regret and woe.
The challenge is to be honest with ourselves and look at this self-imposed burden that we carry with us. This burden is the sorrow, guilt, and anger that we hold in a place of denial that is working at a subconscious level sapping our vitality, joy, peace and harmony. Many times, these are the memories that come back that we push into storage again because they are not “positive.”
These are the events, situations, issues, people, and situations that we need to look at clearly, admit to and forgive ourselves for them. These are the issues that need to see the cleansing light of day.
In 1 John 1:9, the apostle says, “If we confess our sins (errors), he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (errors), and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (whole again). This means, cleaning out all the hidden skeletons, monsters, and scary things we are hiding in our inner closets and allowing the sunshine into our inner Self. These are the things that we can bring to the surface of our consciousness in a safe way, let go and add to our list of things to leave behind us as we celebrate “All Hallows Eve.”
There are many ways to begin the practice of release in safe ways. We have shared tapping as a tool and will make it available quarterly in our class schedule. Spiritual conversation with a prayer chaplain or other persons trained in releasement work is confidential and effective. The Burning Bowel on New Years and the Friday night burn at the Raspa’s are other tools available to you. We will share other tools and ideas on Sunday, so plan to be with us as we exorcise the goblins, skeletons, and scary things together in this Halloween tradition of celebrating and letting go of the past.
I Love you...
